As we disperse out to the 2023 field season I see As we disperse out to the 2023 field season I see that a number of former students are headed to the Judith River sediments that have produced baby remains. My hope is for some good embryos in eggs and especially for some post hatchlings, preferably in nests. Post hatchling lambeosaurines are twice the size of posthatchling hadrosaurines. This photo is of embryonic lambeosaurs bones. Their degree of ossification can only be determined by histology or synchrotron analysis.. Find some cool specimens everyone!! It’s time for more baby dinosaurs!! 🦖

This is my mother holding me in front of my fathers dragline that he and Speck Welker used to pull gravel out of the Marias for their fledgling gravel plant business! My mother had just moved to Montana from Virginia where she had been raised in an affluent setting.. she was clearly a tough woman to deal with her new living conditions especially with a brand new baby. Happy Mothers Day❣️
