    Currently writing about the Dinosaurs of Montana, Currently writing about the Dinosaurs of Montana, history of collecting. This Jay Haynes photo from 1880 shows the paddleboat Josephine tied up at Cow Island on the Missouri River Breaks, Montana Territory. This is where Cope collected, and from where he departed on the Josephine in October of 1876 with a thousand pounds of dinosaur fossils he and his field crew had collected that summer and fall.

This one is dedicated to former student Holly Woodward Ballard for her continued work on Maiasaura, and for inspiring young female paleontologists. Esmeralda, with me in the photo, translated the book into Spanish and both the English and Spanish versions are available on Amazon.

    Hard to say for sure but the Dream Bone pelvis is Hard to say for sure but the Dream Bone pelvis is still looking like that of a Gryposaurus. Left pubis and ischium exposed and articulated. Ilium attached to the sacrum looks a bit out of kilter but definitely in the right vicinity.
